27.1. Paleface DJ-set
Paleface: Tove & Toot’s Record Collection | DJ gig Paleface – also known behind the scenes as DJ Daddy Pales – combines rarities and hits from Tove Jansson and Tuulikki Pietilä’s record collections, creating a soundscape that transports its audience to the heart of Jansson and Pietilä’s creative lives. The set, played from authentic records, offers a unique perspective on the kind of music that plays in the background of the Moomin stories and within the walls of Pietilä’s studio.
24.2. Chamber Ensemble Dux: With flutes and harps | Classical The Chamber Ensemble Dux is a supporting group of the Turku Chamber Orchestra founded in 1977, whose members are usually artists from either the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra or the Turku Conservatory. The aim of the association is to present chamber music in as diverse a way as possible with different and changing performance groups. The program brings out even previously unknown historical treasures, without forgetting classical basic works and new compositions from modern music. Today, the Chamber Ensemble Dux is formed by flutists Katariina and Ilari Lehtinen and harpist Krista Leivo.
24.3. Sounds of Spring: Merikanto’s tunes and Finnish poetry | Classical The concert will feature duets and solos composed by Oskar Merikanto, as well as piano pieces such as Onnelliset, Miss soutaen tuuessa koivut sorjat soi, Itkevä hulu, Laatokka, Elämälle, Pai pai paitaressu, Kun päivä paistaa, etc. In between the music, Keijo Kuivanen will also recite poems. The performers will be Ritva Kotanen, soprano, Keijo Kuivanen, tenor, and Kaisa Kujanpää, piano.
21.4. Magic of Operetta | Classical, operetta The Magic of Operetta concert will transport listeners to the enchanting world of music, as sopranos Mia Heikkinen, Annukka Kuivisto and pianist Marko Autio join forces and interpret the gems of operetta. The concert will immerse listeners in the fascinating atmosphere of the world of operetta, which is full of lightness, drama and heart-warming nostalgia. The program consists of beloved tunes from the great masters of operetta art, such as Franz Léhar, Johann Strauss, Emmerich Kálmán, Carl Zeller and Robert Stolz. Unforgettable melodies will take listeners from Viennese salons to the frenetic atmosphere of Hungarian dance halls. The concert will feature well-known songs, such as the Vilja song from The Merry Widow and Heia, in den Bergen from the operetta The Princess of the Moors, as well as less frequently heard operetta repertoire. There will also be duets from, for example, the opera The Tales of Hoffman.
The Concerts are held in Loimaa Art Museum, in Rantatie 2, at 19 pm. Tickets are 12/10€, with museokortti 6€.
